PROBATE FEES
Grant only (standard – IHT205) – Fees vary depending on the circumstances of your case.
Full Administration and Fixed Fee Probate
Fees are based on the gross value of the estate (IHT205):
- £0 – £325,000: £5,000 plus VAT and disbursements*
- Estates exceeding £325,000: Charged on a time basis as follows:
o Main Fee Earner: £270 per hour plus VAT
o Paralegal & Support Staff: £170 per hour plus VAT
Please note that fees may vary depending on the specific circumstances of the estate. Factors such
as the number and complexity of assets may increase the time required to complete the
administration.
*Disbursements
Disbursements for straightforward estates typically range between £600 and £1,000*.
These may include third-party costs such as bank transfer fees (approximately £30 per transaction).
Home visits
Home visits are charged at £50 plus VAT within a 10-mile radius. For locations beyond this distance,
please contact us for further details.
If an additional witness is required to attend, associated costs can be provided upon request.
Fees and Payment Terms
An initial payment of 50% of the agreed fees is required upon signing the Letter of
Instructions. The remaining balance shall become payable upon completion of the final draft
of the instructed documents.
Payments may be made by card, cheque, or bank transfer.
